schwarts 2019 (deutsch)

Am letzten Augustwochenende wurde das Interim wieder zum Schauplatz des alljährlichen „schwarts“ Festivals. Nach Griechenland und Polen war dieses Jahr Belgien das ausgewählte Partnerland. Wie jedes Jahr, gab es wieder Kunst aus dem Bereich der Subkultur von ortsansässigen Künstlerinnen zu sehen. Neben der separaten Ausstellung fanden im „Festzaal“ die Konzerte der belgischen Bands statt. Anders als im vorigen Jahr, gab es diesmal auch ein Essensangebot. Passend zu Belgien wurden Waffeln angeboten. Diese waren vegan und der Belag passte thematisch zu den Ländern der drei Festivals.

 

Am ersten Abend spielten die Bands „Red Zebra“ und „The Arch“. „Red Zebra“ ist nach einer sechs Jahre langen Pause zurück auf der Bühne, sie spielten in der Vergangenheit zusammen mit bekannten Bands wie „The Cure“ oder „Simple Minds“. „The Arch“ birgt einen hohen Suchtfaktor und mit dem neuen Album „Fades“ nahmen sie beim diesjährigen schwarts die Besucher mit auf eine Reise in die alternative Musikkultur. Nach den Bands brachte der regionale DJ „Alex“ die Besucher bei der Afterparty zum Tanzen.

 

Der zweite Abend wurde von „Dead High Wire“ und „Donder Hel & Hagel“ begleitet. Zu Beginn spielten „ Donder Hel & Hagel“, eine Band aus dem belgischen Leuven. Diese unterhielten das Publikum mit Musik aus einem einzigartigen Mix verschiedener Genres wie Punk, Electro und Wave. Sie verpacken in ihrer Musik sowohl gesellschaftskritische als auch inspirierende Aspekte, welche das Publikum mitrissen. Als Abschluss nahm „Dead High Wire“ die Besucher ebenfalls mit auf eine Reise in die tiefen der subkukturellen Musik. Die noch recht junge Band boten mit ihren Stücken von Wave bis Post-Punk einen krönenden Abschluss der Konzerte. Nach den Bands konnte das Publikum sich noch einmal zur Musik vom belgischen DJ „Mat Zwart“ und dem regionalen DJ „Scanner“ auf der Tanzfläche bewegen und die letzten Waffeln genießen um so das Festival ausklingen zu lassen.

At the last weekend of august the annual „schwarts“ festival took place at the interim again. After Greece and Poland in the last two years was Belgium this year the chosen partner country.

As every year there was art shown from the area of subculture made by local artists. Beneath the seperate exhibition took the concerts of the Belgian bands place in the „Festzaal“. Different to the years before was the food offering. Fitting to Belgium waffles were offered. Those were vegan and the topping fitted to the countrys of all three festivals.

 

The Bands „Red Zebra“ and „The Arch“ played at the first evening. „Red Zebra“ revived now after a break of six years. In the past they played with famous bands like „The Cure“ or „Simple Minds“. The band „The Arch“ has a huge potential for addiction and they took the visitors of this year´s schwarts on a journey with them through the alternative musicculture with their Album „Fades“. After the concerts the local DJ „Alex“ made the visitors dancing on the Afterparty.

 

The second evening was accompanied by „Ded High Wire“ and „Donder Hel & Hagel“. At the beginning „Donder Hel & Hagel“ played. They are a band from the Belgian Leuven. They entertained the audience with music of an unique mix of different genres like Punk, Electro and Wave. Their music includes social criticism and inspiring aspects, which carried away the audience.

Last but not least „Dead High Wire“ took the visitors to a journey into the deepness of the subcultural music. The pretty young band offered a grande finale with their songs from Wave to Post-Punk.

 

 

After the bands the audience was able to dance to the music of the Belgian DJ „Mat Zwart“ and the local DJ „Scanner“. Additional they were able to enjoy the last waffles while the festival did end.
